HIATUS: Aug 2001 to March 2005

In late August 2001 I accepted a job with Credit Suisse First Boston to work as an economist covering Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, out of London. Who would have guessed that I would move back to London. Certainly not me, but the job was a very good fit, and very good money. Yet, from the moment I accepted the job, I found myself unable to write. I adopted my banker persona, and I didn't write another email, poem, or short story until I quit Credit Suisse three and a half years later.
